Connecting Haven &
Gusto
Overview
The Haven + Gusto integration makes it simple to sync payroll data directly into Haven Accounting. With just a few clicks, you can securely connect your Gusto account and automate journal entries, employee expense allocations, and more—saving hours of manual work every month.
How to Connect
Log into your Haven account at usehaven.com
Navigate to Integrations
Locate the Gusto integration card and click “Connect”
You’ll be redirected to Gusto to authorize access
Enter your Gusto admin credentials
Click “Authorize”
Confirm the company you would like to like to Haven.
Once complete, you’ll be returned to Haven and see Gusto marked as “Connected.” Haven will automatically map your Gusto data to your chart of accounts.
Automatic Sync Process
After initial connection, Haven will automatically sync payroll journal entries from Gusto on a regular cadence (e.g., daily)
Data is posted to the appropriate GL accounts in Haven

Troubleshooting
Token Revocation
If your Gusto token expires or is revoked, Haven will mark the integration as “Disconnected”
To fix:
Go to Integrations
Click Reconnect on the Gusto tile
Reauthorize in Gusto’s OAuth window
Disconnecting
Navigate to Integrations
Find the Gusto integration card
Click “Disconnect”
Confirm the disconnection
FAQ
Q: What data does Haven pull from Gusto
A: Payroll journal entries including totals, memos, and metadata about each pay run.
Q: How often does the sync run?
A: Once per day, automatically.
Q: Can I map Gusto employees to vendors or contacts in Haven?
A: Not yet, but this is on the roadmap.
